Far too often African American children have found themselves saddened and confused when their classmates begin to rave about their heritage. It is not uncommon for schools to have a heritage or history day for children; unfortunately, a day that should bring forth smiles and pride often results in African American children being left with stinging pain and confusion. Follow along as this charismatic child encounters this very issue. Allow her journey to be a gateway for your own discovery or quite possibly a segue into a difficult topic too many children are faced with.
