Description
Because of preternatural abilities and racial ambiguity, the world is divided more than ever. People with multiple backgrounds may have rights, but Preternaturals are subject to unjust living conditions. The pursuit for civil rights and unrest are both at an all-time high, especially after a Preternatural child was murdered at the hands of police. During a protest in downtown Harpy Heights, after a civilian is shot, a riot breaks out. Seven, Darrin, Andrea, Cree, Amity, Grey, and Matthews escape the madness, and while trying to make sense of it all, Seven offers them refuge in his hometown in Texas.
After watching a live press conference, the rest of the group realizes the riot wasn't entirely an accident, so they decide to tag along. From downtown, to the parkway, to the forest, seven broken children who cannot see eye to eye must learn to make peace with themselves all while struggling with death, growth, and morals.
