Denise has always been the apple of her father's eye. She keeps her head down, she works hard, and she studies harder. She is taught at an early age that you perpetually give your best. Denise is a young lady who lives an ordinary, dull life. One day, she meets a guy who blows her away. Over time, she falls in love. Ever since then, her life becomes chaos.

His name is Winston. However, everyone knows him as J.R. He has been in the street life since his preteens with no plans of getting out. J.R. has a son, whom he doesn't know about until the child is two years old. When he does find out, he thinks it is best to hide his son from Denise. He falls in love with her from the first time he lays eyes on her.

Denise is eventually kidnapped. The only thing that gives her some piece is knowing he is looking for her. Denise is very reserved, very strong-willed, and very independent. These very well may be the only things that will keep her alive throughout this endeavor.

Winston needs them to see he is not a child but a grown man at fourteen. He must go in hard on every job. He must be better. He must be smarter, and more importantly, he must be faster than the best in the set to be taken seriously.

Things in his crew start to fall apart. As an alternative to trying to keep it together, he chooses for once to put himself first and to search for the woman who has given him purpose. His soul mate is taken on his watch, and he will set out to take her back. Everyone who is involved will pay with their lives.
