Description
Tamarindo Dreams: A Collection of Barrio Poetry is a collection of Tex-Mex poetry by Rio Grande Valley native, Roberto A. (Rob) Rocha. In the book, Rocha shares snippets of his life and experiences living in the border region known as, "el Valle." Love, loss, grief, anger, humor, and faith are just some of the themes he offers, as well as glimpses into experiences with family and friendships. The themes are universal and will be enjoyed by all for many years to come.
Roberto A. (Rob) Rocha is a native of the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, where most of the inspiration for his writing comes from. In 2006, he moved to Dallas, TX to oversee Latino operations for one of the largest and most influential ministries in the nation, traveling and speaking across Latin America, including Mexico, Venezuela, Columbia, and Argentina. In 2008, he was featured in the Dallas Morning Star's Spanish publication, "Al Dia," as one of the Top 20 Emerging Hispanic Leaders in Dallas. Also an accomplished musician, he left the ministry in 2013 to record a CD of original music and to focus on other artistic pursuits. He currently lives in the Dallas area with his wife, Pauline.
