Description
The HBCU Experience: The HBCU Royal University Queens Edition is a collection of stories written by prominent Queens throughout the world. Queens who are doing great things in their careers, businesses, and communities nationally and internationally. The Authors share their stories and experiences of how being a HBCU Royal Queen has molded them into the people they are today.
Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) were established to serve the educational needs of black Americans. During the time of their establishment, and many years afterward, blacks were generally denied admission to traditionally white institutions. Prior to The Civil War, there was no structured higher education system for black students. Public policy, and certain statutory provisions, prohibited the education of blacks in various parts of the nation. Today, HBCUs represent a vital component of American higher education.
