Summer's Rain (PB) (2015)

Cortney Holloway invites readers into a world where Summer reigns supreme. His poetry creates an inviting space for readers to freely immerse themselves in the downpour of life challenge, in a world where rain offers redemption. Flowing from his experiences as a twenty something; Cortney exposes the inner thoughts of an African American male as eloquently as his poetic forefather Langston Hughes. Inspired by the work of Zora Neale Hurston, and Tupac Shakur, his poetic journey began with writing stories and later mastering the art of iambic pentameter. He blends the formal with free verse, the style he so perfectly executes in his first published work Summer's Rain.
