Today’s profile features Jason Easley, CEO of Forever Entertainment LLC. Meeting Jason gave me an opportunity to meet a good guy, with a vision for his business and a clear understanding on the importance of Co-operative Economics. I’m excited to feature Jason and his website, www.foreverdc.com, because we need more entrepreneurs like him succeeding and setting the example for future business owners. So check out his interview below, visit his website, and subscribe to his list.

Give a brief history of your business and how it was founded.
We started out as a group of four who coordinated and promoted Live R&B shows on U street. We put all of our contact emails together and used them to announce our shows. Due to a bad business arrangement with the owner of the venue we organized are shows at, we ceased. After pulling the plug on the live events I decided it would be a smart move for us to “rent” our email list out to those who sought promotions. I changed our site to be more urban media based and purchased more URL’s. Steadily we started experiencing organic growth. We currently receive over 6,000 unique page visitors a month and average about 12,000 page views. We also boast over 11,500 opt in subscribers.
Describe your business and its main products or services?
We are an online news and entertainment resource that serves the Washington Area and National. We consolidate information from various sources for our audience enjoyment. We offer free music downloads, entertainment news, model features, job opportunities, events & free tickets, and community news.
We also offer advertising services like banner ads, eblast advertising, newsletter advertising, videography, graphic design, and printing.
What are the core beliefs of your business?
We believe in offering cost effective advertising to those who have small budgets. We offer an alternative that doesn’t break a potential client’s piggy bank. We believe in treating our clients with the utmost respect because we actually want to see our clients do well and succeed. Respect, honesty, and hard work on behalf of our clients is what we live by.
How does your business benefit the African American community?
Again, it offers our community another voice to promote their products, services, or events at a fraction of the cost of our competitors. We spread our clients advertising on several online communities including our own.
Why did you decide to take on the risk to become an entrepreneur?
Independence and self-satisfaction. Also, entrepreneurship is not something taught in most schools or universities. We are conditioned from elementary to prepare for a 9-5. I intend to use my experience with Foreverdc.com to teach the next generation otherwise.
What legacy do you want to leave as a business owner?
That dreams do come true. It sounds cliché but if you can dream it you can make it happen. So many have sight but few have vision.
How can people get in contact with your business (i.e. website, twitter, email, etc.)?
